Elderly/Disabled Housing (667)
BHA owns and manages 177 units of state-aided housing for elderly/disabled persons (ch. 667).
BHA elderly/disabled housing is located at 13 River Street, 16 River Street and 33 Talbot Avenue. All units are one bedroom and include heat, hot water and electricity. Rent is based on 30% of monthly adjusted income.
Eligibility and tenant selection is determined by DHCD regulations and BHA policy. Preferences are granted to qualified minorities, local veterans and local residents.

Family Housing (705)
BHA owns and manages 12 family housing units located in 9 properties scattered throughout Billerica including seven 3 bedroom single family homes, a three family home with two 3 bedroom units and one 2 bedroom unit, and a two family home with two 3 bedroom units.
Rent is based on 27% of monthly adjusted income. Eligibility and tenant selection is based on DHCD regulations and BHA policy. BHA grants preferences to qualified minorities, local veterans and local residents.

Section 8
BHA is currently authorized and funded by HUD to administer 65 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. This program operates under HUD rules and regulations as well as current BHA policy. Eligibility is based on income, a Criminal Offenders Records Inquiry (CORI) and other information as per HUD and BHA requirements.
Applicants select an apartment they wish to reside in and if it passes inspection, BHA will pay a portion of the rent directly to the landlord. The tenant is responsible for paying their share (as determnined by BHA) directly to the landlord also. Tenant rent is based on 30% of monthly adjusted income and may vary slightly depending on who pays for utilities. Rents must be approved by BHA.

Special Population Housing (689)
BHA owns and maintains 16 units of state-aided housing for Special Populations (ch. 689). These units are all single room occupancy (SRO) and are located in the historic Parker House on River Street, McCullough House on Boston Road and in a soon to be constructed residential facility on Connally Road.
BHA contracts with human service agencies to manage these programs. All eligibility and tenant selection is determined by the human service agency.

BHA owns a 4BR single family home on Glenside Ave, renting it to a qualified and eligible family.
