13 River Street (Greenwood Complex)

13 River Street was the first public housing constructed in Billerica (1963) and consists of 64 one bedroom apartments for elderly/disabled persons. It is located within walking distance of downtown Billerica, the Council on Aging, Senior Center, Town Hall and the town library.

16 River Street (McCarthy Complex)

16 River Street consists of 80 one bedroom apartments constructed in 1978. Rents are subsidized by Section 8 Rental Assistance funds (project based). Located directly across the street from the 13 River Street apartments, it also enjoys prime, centralized location. BHA administrative offices are located in the Commuinity Building at this site.

Talbot School Apartments

The Talbot School, originally built in 1905, was renovated in 1983 into 33 one bedroom apartments for elderly/disabled persons by BHA and the state. Located at 33 Talbot Avenue, it offers a smaller community with various apartment layouts and sizes.

Family Housing

BHA manages 9 State owned properties totaling eleven 3BR apartments and one 2BR apartment. These are scattered around town in various locations and are for appropriately sized families meeting income and other requirements. There are 7 single family homes, 1 three unit and 1 two unit buildings.

Parker House

The Parker House, located at 16A River Street, is a residential home for 8 special population residents. It was purchased by the housing authority and originally was used as the Senior Center. With state funding, BHA took over ownership and converted the second floor into 8 single bedrooms.

The house is included in the Billerica Historic Commission and has stood proudly since the late 1800's. This BHA owned home is managed by the state Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

McColough House

The McCollough House is located at 609 Boston Road and is home for 8 special population residents. Constructed in 1993, this unique building consists of 4 bedrooms and common living space for all residents in each of 2 identical sides. This BHA owned residential facility is managed by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
